2Mila confirms its vocation as a “problem-solving partner” by expanding its range of recycled, qualified and certified techno-polymers, in support of the circular economy.

Thanks to a technical-commercial collaboration agreement between 2Mila Srl and the Japanese company Toray, Toyolac Green ABS Series materials, made by the prestigious Japanese manufacturer with post-consumer recycled materials, will soon be available in Italy.

Toray materials are well known for their high quality, in particular, as an example we could mention their transparent ABS products specifically made for the medical sector, such as the 950 ME1 high fluidity and high chemical resistant 950 ME2 grade.

The new Toyolac Green versions, which have been developed by the company to meet the growing needs of the circular economy, are actually PC / ABS and PET / ABS alloys, particularly suitable for the Electrotechnical, Lighting and Automotive sectors.

The grades intended for the Electrical and Electronic sectors are made up of 72% post-consumer recycled material. They have excellent mold-ability and proven flame resistance in UL94 V0, V05VB and V1 class (see Table).

Instead for the Automotive sector a specific grade has been created based on PET/ABS (see table), in which the amount of post-consumer recycled product is 30%, in order to maintain the best compromise between mechanical, aesthetic and thermal properties.

The management of 2Mila Srl has gained a deep experience in the field of amorphous techno-polymers (PC, PC/ABS and ABS). In particular in the industrial sectors mentioned above, both in terms of transformation and application development. This experience was the ground on which Toray and 2Mila found the synthesis for their collaboration.

The integration of Toray’s PC/ABS and PET/ABS Green in the 2Mila offer is part of a broader plan linked to the Circular Economy, initiated by the Italian company five years ago and specific for technical plastics, in order to satisfy the evolutionary needs of its customers increasingly and better.

The experience of 2Mila technicians offers a simple and precise interpretation, useful for reducing development times and keeping under control the inevitable variables that the new circular philosophy desired by Europe brings with it.
